PMI® Project Management Online Module – Monitoring and Controlling the Project, Part 1

This module addresses the monitoring and controlling of the project work, how to manage any changes raised, and validate and control the project scope. It also discusses how to control the schedule. This course has been fully accredited by the Project Management Institute (PMI).

What Are the Benefits of this Module?

Being able to take a step back and check that the project management plan is being followed and also determine if any corrective or preventative action is needed is always important. Equally important is knowing what to look for when you take that step back. Scope creep is such a common problem with projects and it impacts negatively on the ability to deliver a project on time, in budget and to acceptable quality standards. Controlling the scope therefore is hugely important.

What are the Learning Outcomes?

It explains how to:

  • Monitor and control the execution of the project work.
  • Ensure that the Scope of the project is monitored and controlled through the Validate and Control Scope and Control Schedule process.
  • Manage change requests through the Perform Integrated Change Control process.

  3. Remembering and applying learning.
  4. Learning when things change.
  5. Learning when things go wrong.

These short courses provide a perfect way of enabling you or your teams to access bite-sized chunks of information that is applicable in each of the 5 moments of learning need.
